Reels, Reports & Results: What does social media management actually involve?

One of the most common questions I get asked about my job is ‘so what do you actually do?’.

Managing social media properly for a brand or business takes time. It’s not just about sharing aesthetic photos or trending reels. It’s about building a presence that reflects your brand, connects with the right  people, and helps you achieve the results you’re looking for.

Every social media manager has a different process, but if you’ve ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of our social media management service VIBRA, here’s a breakdown:

Strategy & Planning

Before anything gets posted, we review your current platforms, understand your goals, look at your competitors and create a tailored content strategy that makes sense for you.

Content Calendars

You’ll receive a comprehensive content calendar that is regularly updated. This ensures all content is planned in advance and allows you to review anything before it goes live.

Graphics & Visuals

From branded graphics to custom visuals and video templates – everything is designed to look cohesive, professional and on-brand.

Video & Reels Editing

Short-form video is impactful but time-consuming. We can help you plan, edit and post video content that engages your audience without taking over your week.

Captions & Copywriting

From fun and conversational to clear and informative, we draft captions that sound like you and resonate with the people you want to reach.

Scheduling & Posting

We handle the logistics – uploading, tagging, optimising and publishing your content across your social media platforms.

Reporting & Insights

Each month, you’ll receive a clear breakdown of what’s working, what could be improved, and what’s next – social media moves quickly, and it’s essential that we stay up-to-date.

Why it matters

For many business owners, managing social media feels like just another task on the list — something they have to do, so it gets done in a rush, often as an afterthought.

But if you want to build a successful business or personal brand today, social media can’t be left on the back burner. It’s often the first place people look — before your website, before sending you an email, before anything else.

When you hand over your social media to someone who understands it, things start to shift. Your content becomes consistent, your time is freed up, and the results you’ve been hoping for finally start to land.

Social Media Management
Ideal for businesses that want social media done well, without it taking over their to-do list.

I always try to align my personal values with my work, which is why I want those who collaborate with me to know not only who I am as a marketing professional but also as a person. If you’re not familiar with Guernsey, it is a small island between France and England, where I was born and raised. Guernsey has been my home for 27 years, except for a three-year stint at university and the many months I have spent travelling over the last 4 years. Growing up by the ocean has given me a great appreciation for adventure, and although I love my home, I often feel the rest of the world calling my name. I grew up writing stories and always replied, ‘an author!’ when adults asked what I wanted to be when I was older. Writing novels is still a pipedream for now, but I write for a living – and I think little Katie would be pretty happy with that! I never really fit the mould or felt at home in an office setting, so I’ve ended up here, creating a career in a way that works for me.
